Teacher Training Workshops

Elbarlament is partnering with the Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to host two-day workshops in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. These workshops aim to provide training for teaching staff at state schools on civic education matters, specifically focusing on their participation in societal processes.
Teachers, considered key actors in community education projects, play a vital role as multipliers. 
The two-day training will empower teachers with tools to conduct an extra-curricular "Day of Civic Education" using the "sandwich method" in collaboration with a civic education expert. Workshops, with the same content but minor regional adjustments, will be held in other regions in Iraq. Participants will be selected in cooperation with Ministry of Education in Kurdistan Region, considering interest, motivation, and diversity. To assess the training's impact, pre- and post-assessment tests will be conducted, and feedback for improvement of the training itself will be encouraged.
 
Tentative Agenda (subject to change):

- The first two-day training course will be held in Erbil on October 2-3, 2024.

- The second Two-day training course will be held in Sulaymaniyah on October 6-7, 2024.
