Mosul Heritage Foundation for Culture and Development
An institution dedicated to preserving Nineveh and Iraq's cultural heritage has risen from the war's devastation in Mosul. It began documenting heritage buildings and intangible heritage on social media to protect identity. A volunteer team formed, leading to clean-up campaigns and the establishment of a heritage institution. With a community museum housing over 800 donated pieces, the Heritage House supports local projects and hosts workshops. Since 2022, it has welcomed 51,000 visitors and forged partnerships with UNESCO, the German Goethe-Institute, and others to safeguard and promote Nineveh's heritage.
